In today's hurried time, many people are looking for alternative way of life that allow them to return to nature, pause for a moment and realize what is most important in life. Lots of people work almost every day and do a job that is not fun, just because they do not have the ability to do what they enjoy, because get paid for what you enjoy takes time, and unfortunately, most people have not time.
But in the world are some of us who have decided to say enough of this way of life. I recently had an interview with Mr Aleš, who decided to be partly independent of the system and thereby gained more freedom in his life. Learn more about his alternative way of life in our interview.
I read your comment at tadesco.cz that you live in a house that is not dependent on the system. Can you tell my readers in more detail what type of house is there and how does it work?
This is not accurate. I do not have to pay rent or anything else. The cottage is wooden, one larger room. But I have to import potable water, buy a gas bomb for cooking, food and other things of a personal nature. I also regularly go to work. I have electricity for lighting and entertainment from the solar panel. It is not a necessity of life, a rather pleasant extra thing. Human can play music, recharge the phone, work on a laptop ... Just for relax when I has time off.
Be 100% independent on the system would be a much bigger challenge. I'm not too close to that. I should have my own food, water, and take care of everything else. And that is very difficult. This everybody soon finds out.
Only basic treatment for possible injuries. To get a little closer. I have three medium-sized pharmacies, each packed with other preparations, things, tools. Everything personally selected, really functional, and above all with knowledge, how and what to do with it. And so it is with everything. It is not enough to have something, but you must know how to use it properly. Be able to apply the theory in practice.
How much did it cost you to get such housing?
The house and the land were from my family and no one had long shown interest in them. He required certain investments in fencing and other repairs, but above all personal labor, which naturally did not want do nobody. I took it as my personal testing workshop and testing the functionality of many ideas that have been dragging my mind for years. And when I tried functionality my ideas, so I was getting enough of the courage and went work for this permanently.
Why did you choose to choose such a way of living in a completely self-contained house?
Again, I note that self-sufficiency is, for most of us, a mere illusion. We need at least a small community. People who take care of each other - otherwise it just cannot work. No one knows and cannot everything. You for example has no tools, no knowledge, nothing experience.
And why did I choose to change the comfort of the prefabricated house? Because one day I realized how much our current system is fragile. And above all, I'm not feeling well in this system. That I always must to do something . Pay, work, suffer others. That I'm 100% dependent on every payout and any downtime I just can not manage. That I go to work for a whole month, and pay taxes on the state, pay for my flat and other things.
That, after paying all my life needs, there is only enough to survive, and any other expenses I can no longer do pay. So I refused it. I thought about my options and start again.I gave my termination at work and in the apartment and began to solve everything from the ground entirely differently.
What are the main positives and negatives of this way of life?
You must be able to take care of himself. It works to work both socially and if living alone - to learn to live with yourself. That's all. Managing your body is much easier than managing your mind. Your mind requires constant attention, the body is only a fraction compared to it.
Positives are freedom, independence, suverenity, the acquisition of many practical experiences and versatile resilience. When something goes wrong, sou you know how repair it.You believe and you know how to deal with each situation. You can also freely travel for a few months and do not have to look back, that you have to pay for housing expenses.
Negatives is discomfort. Everything is more difficult, it depends entirely on your, efforts, possibilities and ingenuity. For example washing clothes in the summer is difficult, but in winter it is particularly difficult. And so it is with everything.
When I did not have a stove yet, I experienced test sleeping in the winter when the outside was -15 °C and inside -2 °C. Under such conditions, you have to know what you are doing, there are not place for mistakes. Without really good equipment you can freeze through at night so do not have to wake up anymore. Two-layer winter sleeping bag is a living necessity.
It's about it. Learn what works and what not. What is good and what not. How to solve and deal with each situation. To learn to survive, when they turn off the electricity and our system went completely under the flowers. And that can calmly happen - and I think that must happen. The set course is clearly suicidal and can hardly end well.
What would you recommend and send word to people who would like to live in this way of life?
Courage. Even if she feels afraid - go for it. Go for your dream and do not listen why something does not work. Tighten forces and find a way to achieve what you want. Look for a solution. Try it - although you recharge mouth. No change is free. Continue until I fail. Take obstacles as challenges to overcome and no as insurmountable peaks of the mountains. And above all: Have common sense.
When I first went to the trek with a backpack, so I was for others experienced travelers as the burden. This musn´t break you. Being stupid is a necessary experience, If you want to learn something and move forward in your life.
Life is a hard game. Whoever wishes to win must learn and control his rules. Reject social constraints and focus on growth. Play yourself. Have fun with your own incompetence - and cross it. Search your fears and overcome them. Do not let somebody get down your life. Have fun with people who deserve it. You must know how deal with cheaters as with other difficulties. And above all, to maintain desire and hope to live. Their absence will kill you just as reliably as a running train.
On behalf of website Magical Nomad I thank you for the interview and I hope that you will retain your way of alternative life in the future.
