My trip to the mountain Krivaň in the Tatras mountain

Before 7 years I was in the Tatras mountains, which are situated the in Slovakia. My way in the Tatras mountain started so I reached the tourist complex Podbánské by bus. I remember how the bus driver said we should be pay attention the bears. It did not calm me much, but I walked my trip to the mountain Kriváň.

Krivaň is mountain which is situated in the north Slovakia on the border of Slovakia and Polish. This mountain is 2,495 meters high. In the around this mountain you can visit above mentioned beers also chamois, deer, marmot, rock eagle, lynx, fox, migratory falcon, occasionally wolf and many other animals, including otters in rivers.

From tourist complex Podbánské I set out on my trip to mountains Krivaň. I walked along the plain about 8 kilometers to the west and into the target area of Tri Studňičky (translate: Three Wells). Here I sat down at the gazebo, ate my snack and drank clean spring water from the well. This was realy a quiet and pleasant place to sit.

When I get new powers, so I walked to the south and I started to climb steeply. The country was completely destroyed after the hurricane, which drove over a month ago. Often I had to cross the fallen trees.

Suddenly I saw something black from a distance, standing on two legs. I thought, "Fuck, this is the bear!". I just stood for a while and watched what he was going to do. We both looked at each other for about two minutes at a distance of 400 meters and no one moved.

After two minutes, I walked on, but I kept watching him. He also continued his journey on the two legs. I stopped, and he too. Then I realized that this wasn´t bear but a man who had black clothes and looked like a bear from a distance. Since I was also in black clothes, he certainly thought that I was a bear, and therefore he watched me so long. It was really a comical situation when we were looking at one another and every one of them saw a bear.

From the 1,600 meters started changed landscape. The forests disappeared and the bushes were replaced. From the 2,000 meters started snow and a strong cold wind blowed.

In the afternoon around 2 p.m I reached the top of the mountain. On the top of the mountain was next turist´s, which were photographed yourself. I asked them for photographed of me and this photo was created:

In about twenty minutes at the top I started to go down. When I came back to the Tri Sudničky, it was dark. It was danger came back to Podbánské same way across forest, because I could lose and not see the possible bears in time.

So I went to the road that was right next to the Tri Studničky. From there I went west to Podbanske. I tracked cars on the road, but no one stopped me. Eventually I arrived in Podbanská late tonight, where I slept inside a bus stop.

In conclusion

My trip to the Krivaň mountain was beautiful. It is true that I had all the worries about bears, but the adrenalin to travel belongs. Seven years ago, when I was passing this trip, 1200 Bears were counted in the whole of Slovakia. New statistics from 2017 say that there are currently 1600 bears in Slovakia. That's about 400 more. This bears expand to the human villages for food and to the Czech Republic, where during last 200 years were no bears.
