New Liberal Study: Big Macs Can End Police Racism
Just when I thought liberal Logic couldn't get any more idiotic, A new Loony Toon Liberal study claims, being hungry causes racism.

On Medium a couple days ago, a Liberal study about Racism in the Oakland Police Department was posted: New Study Shows Oakland Cops Are More Racist When Tired or Stressed

The study — written by researcher and recent Mills College grad Meghan Hunt to cap her master of public policy and published last week by the Oakland Police Department (OPD) Office of the Inspector General — reviews 10,624 officer-initiated stops conducted by OPD patrol officers from January 2016 through October 2016.
Here are a few excerpts from this moronic study.
When officers skip their meal breaks, blacks are targeted even more disproportionately than usual.
reveals that at times when police are likely stressed and fatigued, officers stop, search and handcuff African Americans at higher rates than people of other races.

In other words, cops are more racist when they’re stressed.
Most Oakland police officers work 10-hour shifts. They are supposed to take a 30-minute break; however, it is common to skip the break…the data reveals what happens when officers work straight through their 10-hour shift without taking a break.

 

By the fifth hour of continuous duty, the rate at which blacks are pulled over increased to 66 percent of all traffic stops. The effect shown in her study correlates to how long the officer has been working their shift.

 

Meanwhile, the rate at which officers stop whites and people of other races remains flat for the entire 10-hour shift.

Ideally, officers would take their prescribed 30-minute meal break, but the OPD is severely short staffed, and officers are perpetually behind in answering service calls.

 

Which leads to, “the growing body of evidence that people are less able to control their implicit biases and unconscious stereotypical thinking when they are stressed, hungry or fatigued.”
It is the hypothesis of this study that if Oakland cops skip their lunch breaks. The hunger then causes stress, which makes them feel the need to pull over more black people. WOW that conclusion is beyond stupid.
Liberal Logic Methodology 
Now get ready for the loony liberal methodology for this loony liberal science study:
On average, an officer makes less than one stop per shift. Most of an officer’s day is spent answering 911 emergencies and other service calls.
How can the author of this study conclude "By the third stop..." when Oakland Police officers are averaging less than one stop per shift?
What this study doesn't show is:

If the traffic stops were justified
A breakdown of the Infractions that caused the Police to pull the car over.
A breakdown of the number of stops for each hour of a 24-hour day.
The Breakdown of the number of stops per day by the day of the week.
What was the race and gender of the Police officer and a breakdown of their stops?
If they skipped lunch altogether, or went through a drive-through and ate while on duty, but sitting in their car.
Did the officer who 'skipped lunch,' snack during the shift, or went totally went without any food.
How many of these 'One stop per days" were included in the overall number.
The Breakdown for one stop per shift, compared to two-stops, compared to three-stops etc.

A Waste of Paper
Even if there is something to this “hunger causes racism” nonsense, this study shows nothing because of it's lack of any breakdown.

Knowing how the liberals have completed these bias studies in the past. They seem to already have an agenda before writing one word and then they make the facts fit their theory.

An example of this would be if there was no difference between a black Police officer and White Police officers "racist tendency" when hungry.  That fact would throw a little monkey wrench in their pre-determined assumptions. To combat this the author just leaves the breakdown out of the report and lumps everything together.

I can guarantee you one thing If the research showed that hungry white officers were pulling over a substantially higher amount of African Americans than hungry black officers per shift. That little tidbit would be in the first paragraph.

The more everything gets lumped together in any study, the more suspect it becomes. When an author does not break down the numbers that should set off alarm bells.

Even if this 'Hunger = Racism' is somehow real, this study does nothing to solve the problem. The most you can conclude from this idiotic study is to give the Oakland Police officers a Big Mac before sending them out on patrol.
