WATCH: Juliette Binoche Looks for Meaningful Romance in Trailer for 'Let the Sun Shine In'

Two icons of French cinema put their talents together for the romantic dramedy, "Let the Sun Shine In."
Academy Award-winner Juliette Binoche stars as Isabelle, a divorced mother and artist looking for love. But not the temporary kind. She is looking for meaningful, lasting love. The film follows her journey through bad dates and bad relationships along the road to happiness.
The film also stars Xavier Beauvois, Nicolas Duvauchelle, and Alex Descas as some of Isabelle's various suitors.
Juliette Binoche won her first Academy Award for the film, "The English Patient" in 1997. She was nominated again for "Chocolat" in 2001. She has also been nominated for 10 French César Awards, including this year for this film. She won the prize in 1994 for the film, "Three Colors: Blue."
Claire Denis co-writes and directs "Let the Sun Shine In." She was nominated a César Award for Best First Work with her film, "Chocolat" in 1988. This is not to be confused with Binoche's Oscar-nominated film. One of Denis' most celebrated films was the 1999 drama, "Beau Travail." That film scored a number of citations from critics' groups and fetivals, as well as a César for cinematography.
Denis co-wrote the script with Christine Angot, who makes her feature debut here.
The film premiered last May in Cannes during the Directors Fortnight. Since then, it has played at festivals including Munich, NYFF, Mill Valley, and AFI Fest.
It is distributed in the US by Sundance Selects, and will be in theaters on April 27.
