The Rebooted 'Queer Eye for the Straight Guy' Is Here, Queer, and Fabulous

There may be a new Fab Five, but make no mistake about it: "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" is back to slay misconceptions and terrible fashion choices. With the shorter, sweeter title of "Queer Eye" and their sights set on fighting for acceptance in the era of Trump, the reality makeover series returns on Netflix in just a few weeks. "Queer Eye" is a reboot of the Emmy-winning Bravo series "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" that charged onto TV screens in 2003. This time around, the Fab Five consists of interior designer Bobby Berk, foodie and wine connoisseur Antoni Porowski, cultural guru Karamo Brown, "Gay of Thrones" youtuber and hair stylist Jonathan Van Ness and fashion man Tan France, according to Deadline. Just like the original "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy," the series seeks to give straight men the guidance and courage to revamp their closets, homes and lives.

Creator David Collins of Scout Productions will serve as EP alongside partners Michael Williams and Rob Eric, according to Variety. Collins originally created "Queer Eye" back in 2003, which went on to win a Primetime Emmy for outstanding reality program and 2 GLAAD Media Awards. The creator is excited to introduce a new generation of viewers to "Queer Eye," telling EW, "The millennials don't remember the old show. It's got such a great heart and soul and humor to it, so I'm excited for a new audience."
