The mayor of ousted Istanbul, Ekrem Imamoglu, said in an interview with AFP on Thursday that he will lead a "revolution" for democracy, winning a new municipal election, after the controversial cancellation of a first ballot. On March 31, he defeated the AKP candidate, President Erdogan's party, by some 13,000 votes. The Istanbulites are called to vote again to elect their mayor, June 23.
