In Spain, five imprisoned Catalan separatists have been elected to the legislative elections

Oriol Junqueras, Raul Romeva, Jordi Sanchez, Jordi Turull and Josep Rull were elected, while they are currently in full trial. Five Catalan separatists, currently detained and tried in Madrid for their role in Catalonia's attempt to secede in 2017, were elected deputies on Sunday (April 28th) in the Spanish elections won by the Socialists.

Among them is the former vice-president of this northeastern region, Oriol Junqueras, the main defendant of the trial that began on February 12, against which the prosecution has required 25 years in prison.

Junqueras was elected deputy leader of the Republican Left Party of Catalonia (ERC) while Raul Romeva, former regional head of foreign affairs, was elected senator under the same label...........
