Donald Trump on state visit to United Kingdom in early June

The US President is expected to be honored June 3rd-5th by United Kingdom Queen Elizabeth II and Premier Theresa May. A first invitation launched in January 2017 had turned into a simple "working visit" in July of the following year, in the face of the extent of the protests.

US President Donald Trump will pay a state visit to the United Kingdom from June 3 to 5, Buckingham Palace announced on Tuesday, a move likely to attract a wave of protests with calls for protests already. Donald Trump will be the guest of Queen Elizabeth II and will also meet with the Prime Minister.

"This state visit is an opportunity to strengthen our already close relationship in areas such as trade, investment, security and defense, and to discuss how we can build these links in the years to come", said May, who is counting on her American ally for post-Brexit.

For its part, the White House said that this state visit "will reaffirm the long-term and privileged relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom".....
