Attacks in Sri Lanka,

Claimed by the Islamic State (IS), Sri Lanka attacks that left 321 dead, including 38 foreigners, and 500 wounded on Easter Sunday in churches and hotels in Sri Lanka were apparently intended to avenge the massacre committed last month in two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, said a Sri Lankan minister on Tuesday.

Defense Secretary Ruwan Wijewardene said two Sri Lankan Islamist groups, National Thawheed Jama'ut (NTJ) and Jammiyathul Millathu Ibrahim, were responsible for the coordinated attacks.

The United Nations said 45 children were among the dead.

Suicide attacks targeted three churches and four hotels. They were claimed Tuesday by IS, via its propaganda organ Amaq. IS does not provide any evidence in support of its claim.....
