Libya: A residential area of ​​Tripoli bombed, seven dead

A dozen Grad rockets fell in the night from Tuesday to Wednesday in a densely populated suburb of Tripoli, the Libyan capital attacked for two weeks by the Libyan National Army (ANL) Marshal Khalifa Haftar, the strongman of this is from the country.

The bombardment, shortly before midnight, struck the neighborhood of Abu Salim, in the south of the city. He made seven deaths, mostly women, and 17 wounded, according to authorities and witnesses.

Since the beginning of the ANL offensive, the fighting has killed more than 800 people, according to the United Nations.

Both sides accused each other of being the source of the shooting.

According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), thousands of civilians are trapped in the southern neighborhoods of Tripoli, where government forces have blocked the advance of the ANL.

The clashes led to nearly 20,000 people fleeing. According to OCHA, at least 14 civilians died in the fighting and another 36 were injured.

The internationally recognized Libyan Prime Minister Fayez al Serraj visited Wednesday morning the bombed area, eight kilometers south of the city center.
