Billy Corgan shuts down rumors that NWA is closing

ATLANTA, Ga. -- Rumors were brought up Thursday stating that the NWA - National Wrestling Alliance is shutting down for good.
The rumors got the attention of NWA owner and president Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins fame.
Corgan did address the issue via Instagram:
A quick note about the National Wrestling Alliance, which I fought for, and won ownership of a few years back.We are NOT shutting down. So please disregard any and all rumor to effect.
Corgan continues to state that NWA is not and will not be up for sale. He notes that there is talent under contract for a reason:
which is to figure out a way to provide our great fans with wrestling content in a very, very tough environment. And more importantly, keep our talent safety and the standard of production you've come to expect from us at a high level.
Corgan adds that anything less is unacceptable. He additionally notes that he does not appreciate the unsourced rumors and speculation, although he appreciates the interest and chatter.
NWA has been unable to produce traditional wrestling content during the COVID-19 pandemic. Circumstances resulted in the cancellation of the Crockett Cup and the suspension of all tapings. However, they were able to produce a Carnyland series, with episodes airing in May and June.
There was a suspension of content production in relation to a "Speak Up" movement regarding wrestlers and industry professionals who have acted inappropriately.
