Libertarian candidate for Illinois House to host town hall forum Wednesday
DeKALB (Heartland Newsfeed) -- A candidate seeking the Libertarian Party of Illinois' nomination in his bid for the Illinois House of Representatives seat in District 70 will be holding a town hall forum next week.

Cortland resident John Eldon Mathey, chairman of the Libertarian Party of DeKalb County, is seeking a run as a Libertarian in an open race for the seat currently occupied by state representative Robert Pritchard (R-Hinckley). Pritchard announced in July that he would not be seeking a ninth term.

The forum will be held Wednesday, Nov. 29 at The House Cafe, 263 E. Lincoln Hwy. in DeKalb from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and will be available for comments, photos and interviews, according to a news release. Mathey plans to show residents that they are Libertarian, but just don't know it yet.

Other candidates running for Pritchard's seat are Democratic candidates Paul Stoddard, a member of the DeKalb County Board, and Howard Solomon, board member of the DeKalb CUSD #428 board of education. The solo Republican candidate is Jeff Keicher, a local State Farm agent.
