Organized by Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) for the first time in the year 2000 as the FIFA Club World Championship, the competition has now become a significant one, although it’s looked down upon in South America and is not exceedingly popular in most parts of Europe.
The first Championship was hosted by Brazil in the year 2000 which saw Corinthians Paulista getting crowned as the champions. As for the most successful side to have participated in the tournament, it’s none other than Spanish Giants Real Madrid who have won the competition a total of four times. Bayern Munich are the tournament’s defending champions and it remains to be seen who will take home the FIFA Club World Cup trophy in 2022.

Top Scorer: It’s none other than Cristiano Ronaldo who holds the record for being the overall top goal- scorer in the history of the competition (7 goals).
