In the competition formerly known as the Prime Volleyball League, seven teams compete for volleyball supremacy. The first match took place at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, where the Hyderabad Black Hawks took against the Kochi Blue Spikers. The tournament consists of 24 games that will be played over a 23-day span.
In the inaugural season, there were seven teams competing. There are 24 matches in all, with each team playing each other in a single round-robin format, with the top four teams advancing to the Play-Offs.

The Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, which has held a number of big athletic events in the past, will host the Prime Volleyball League 2022. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Prime Volleyball League, which was planned to be held in Kochi, was postponed to Hyderabad. The organisers were forced to hold the matches behind closed doors, with no spectators, due to the outbreak.
