Week two of the 2022 Rapid Chess Championship event, presented by Coinbase, saw GM Fabiano Caruana win the knockout phase, know all the results and standings
GMs Daniil Dubov and David Paravyan finished in the semifinals, while GMs Wesley So, Alexey Dreev, Peter Svidler, and David Anton Guijarro finished in the quarters. Except for Anton Guijarro, all of the top-eight players were Russian or American.

Rapid Chess Championship 2022 Format And Rules

Chess.com hosts a weekly competition called the Rapid Chess Championship. Every Saturday, a nine-round Swiss tournament with a 10+0 time control is held, followed by a knockout event on Sunday with a 10+2 time control for the top eight finishers. If the players draw, they play another 3+2 game; if they draw again, they play a 1+1 game; and if it is also drawn, they play a single Armageddon game.

The event features 48 top players from the FIDE top-100, top-10 women, and top-10 juniors in the world, as well as 10 wildcards. The event will continue next weekend, February 26-27, at 9 a.m. Pacific / 18:00 Central European, beginning at 9 a.m. Pacific / 18:00 Central European.
