Hi folks!
It’s our 20th Year Anniversary this year, yep 20 years of fighting to open doors to UK cinemas and creating a platform for black filmmakers, it has been a constant struggle for lasting change but our work has bought about many changes and numerous successes which we are proud of and the best thing especially as a business; is the fact that we are still here today championing black & urban films and even these days paid by mainstream distributors to market the best black films, helping us to make sure our community gets to see these movies first when they are released.

Our Anniversary event on Friday 26th October will be a special intimate celebratory screening and party at the Whirled Cinema in Brixton, South London, SE26 0HN. We will be showing for the first time in the UK on the big screen Tyler Perry’s psychological-thriller Acrimony starring the sensational Taraji P Henson and Yes YOU are INVITED.

Also on the night that main feature film will be supported by 3x short films, two of which are Kush classics chosen from the best independent short films ever shown by Kush over the last 20 years and of course the oldies are the goodies, so we bring back 2 classic films from our archives. There will also be a new 2018 short film Flatmates starring our host actress and comedian Melanie Gayle (sister of Michelle Gayle).

There will also be a Caribbean food finger buffet.
The doors will open from 7.30pm and allow for those coming straight from work to come in, have a drink, network and relax. The event programme and films will start around 8.45pm and the party starts at 11.30pm (if we manage to stick appropriately to time - you know how it goes - but will of course endeavour to do so)

Our next already scheduled date for the Kush Film Boutique will be our annual Christmas Film Party back at the Whirled Cinema on Friday 28th December (film tbc)
