When progressive Democrats raise taxes on something, they usually start off with "This program will bring in an amazing amount of $$$. That would quickly be followed up by 'And this is how we'll spend your money." Except Democrats keep that last part to themselves, because they would never be transparent enough to actually say it.

Now I left out the number because it would be completely made up. Which is exactly what the Democrats always seem to do during these big NEW 'revenue stream' announcements.

Many times the number they "project' is pulled out their asses anyway. All they really care about is to announce a number large enough that will distract the voters from realizing "IT'S ANOTHER TAX."

The latest example of Democrat arithmetic comes out of Philadelphia.
A New Way To Steal Your Money
Last year the Democrats had the brilliant idea to tax sugary drinks.

Of course, the Democrats declared they are doing it all for you.  After all your just too dumb to understand that soda is no good for you. But, no worries retard.  Nanny Dem is here and will do all the thinking for you.

After a heated debate, Philly started taxing sweetened drinks at 1.5 cents per ounce. The tax was billed as a way to fund community schools, prekindergarten programs, recreation centers, libraries, and parks.

Of course, Democrats never seem to understand, when you tax things, people will find a way to tell you to 'shove that tax right up your ass.'
Color me shocked that these two things happened

Sugary drinks sales dropped 55% inside Philadelphia city limits.
People in Philadelphia were still buying sugary drinks, but they were now traveling outside city limits to stock up.

It would not be shocking to hear within a few weeks Philadelphia Democrats announcing that the sugar drink tax will be going up because SURPRISE! The Democrats already spent the money THEY THOUGHT they were stealing from tax payers.
