YouTube Announces Theatrical Release of 'Vulture Club' Starring Susan Sarandon

YouTube announced on Wednesday that principal photography is now complete on the upcoming film "Vulture Club."
The film tells the story of an ER nurse whose journalist son has been captured by a terrorist group in a foreign country. Unable to get help from any government agency, she finds a community of advocates to help locate and rescue her son.
Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon ("Feud: Bette and Joan") stars in "Vulture Club" alongside Edie Falco ("The Sopranos") and Matt Bomer ("The Nice Guys").
The film was directed by Iranian-American filmmaker Maryam Keshavarz, who said in a statement from YouTube:
"'Vulture Club' follows the singular journey of a woman abandoned by her government who finds community in the most unexpected places. It's an honor to work with Susan Sarandon, Edie Falco and Matt Bomer who are the incredible talents and an innovator like YouTube to tell this timely story."

"This emotional drama grapples with relevant issues journalists around the world face today. Maryam Keshavarz lends her powerful perspective as an Iranian-American filmmaker, and Susan Sarandon's moving performance immediately drew us into this compelling film. In a surprise move, YouTube announced they will first release the film in theaters. They have not announced the specific date yet. But the film will subsequently stream on YouTube Red, their premium subscription service, later in the year.
This is not the only film YouTube plans to release theatrically. The company acquired rights to the Sundance film "Bodied," which was produced by Eminem.
