'Norm Macdonald has a Show' for Netflix

Comedian and SNL alum Norm Macdonald announced his new Netflix series via Twitter on Friday morning.

On "Norm Macdonald has a Show," McDonald will host a talk show with one celebrity guest each episode. He will also have a sidekick, Adam Eget. Netflix ordered ten episodes for the first season, and Macdonald will serve as executive producer and co-showrunner in addition to his hosting duties.

Lori Jo Hoekstra will also work as executive producer and co-showrunner.

Macdonald burst onto the comedy scene in 1993 when he joined the cast of "Saturday Night Live." His friendship with co-star Adam Sandler led to his feature film debut in the screwball comedy, "Billy Madison." While working at SNL, he continued to appear in movies, as well as guest spots on various television series. He is known for his sarcastic, deadpan delivery, which will make for an interesting dynamic in hosting a talk show.

Lori Jo Hoekstra has worked closely with Macdonald for years. Hoekstra produced "Norm," "Back to Norm," "Sports Show with Norm Macdonald," "Norm Macdonald: Me Doing Standup," and "Norm Macdonald Live."

In addition to Macdonald and Hoekstra, KP Anderson and Daniel Kellison will executive produce. Retired, award-winning late night host David Letterman is working as a location scout.

Netflix has not yet announced the release date for "Norm Macdonald has a Show," but it seems his Twitter feed is the place to go for updates.
