Precious is getting another golden idol. Andy Serkis ("Black Panther"), one of Hollywood's ultimate Renaissance men, will receive the Motion Picture Showman of the Year Award at this years' Publicists Awards. According to Deadline, the accolade will be presented to the actor and director at the International Cinematographers Guild's annual lunch gala this March.

Serkis had a fruitful 2017, starring in box office juggernauts "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" and "War for the Planet of the Apes," and is starting off 2018 with a bang with a supporting role in Marvel's "Black Panther." The actor, best recognized for portraying Gollum in the "Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit" series, also made his directorial debut with "Breathe," a biopic about disabled activist Robin Cavendish starring Andrew Garfield ("Hacksaw Ridge") and Claire Foy ("The Crown"). Serkis is currently in post-production on a"Jungle Book" reboot for Warner Bros, which he also directed.

The 55th annual Publicist Awards will be held on March 2 at the Beverly Hilton. Serkis will receive the Motion Picture Showman of the Year Award alongside Betty White, who will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award.
