The Results Are in For MVFF40: See The List of Winners

The Mill Valley Film Festival (MVFF40) ended its ten day run on Sunday, leaving us with a host of audience favorites and notable films to keep an eye on in the coming months. MVFF40 is a film festival presenting and honoring new films and their filmmakers from across the globe; each year the MVFF40 hosts over 200 filmmakers from 50 countries and screens a lengthy list of newbie directors and Hollywood heavyweights, highlighting some of the best and brightest and launching them into the zeitgeist.

The festival just released the official audience favorites, honoring the likes of Dee Rees, Simon Curtis and Agnès Varda. MVFF40's award winners often go on to a good showing during awards season, giving us a glimpse at surprise contenders and likely Oscar locks.
