One of the upcoming movies in Warner Bros. "Lego" series has just landed a director. The film, which currently has the working title "The Billion Brick Race," will be directed by Jorge Gutierréz ("The Book of Life"), according to THR. No plot details have been released.

Gutiérrez is known for his work with animated films, having directed the feature film "The Book of Life" and the TV series "El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera." "The Book of Life" was nominated for a Golden Globe, while the latter won five Daytime Emmys. According to THR, he most recently directed a Google Spotlight Story animated short, "Son of Jaguar," set to drop sometime this year. The short centers on a combination of Mexican wrestling and a story of tradition and family ties.

"The Billion Brick Race" was originally in the hands of writers Jason Segel ("How I Met Your Mother") and Drew Pearce ("Iron Man 3"). However, it's been several years since that announcement, with no details as to why. The pair just turned the movie over to Gutierrez, which will hopefully get the film back into gear.

No premiere date for "The Billion Brick Race" has been released. However, you can see two more films from the "Lego" franchise very soon; "The Lego Ninjago Movie" premieres Sept. 22, while "The Lego Movie Sequel" is slated for release Feb. 8, 2019.

Who do you hope will lend their voice to Lego’s “Billion Brick Race”? Let us know in the comments below!
