Mikhail Saakashvili returns to Ukraine thanks to the new president

More than a year after being expelled from Ukraine by former President Petro Poroshenko, Mikheil Saakashvili is back in Kiev. He was greeted yesterday by dozens of supporters and the Ukrainian anthem. The new head of state, Volodymyr Zelensky, returned his Ukrainian citizenship earlier this week.
He said he was "very happy to be with millions of Ukrainians" to "participate in the construction of a new country".
In 2015, after the end of his two terms as president in Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili left his country to become governor of Ukraine's Odessa region, a position to which appointed Poroshenko........
