Abortion: Louisiana adopts a restrictive law

Louisiana passed a law on Wednesday banning women from using abortions from six weeks of pregnancy. It becomes the last US state to restrict the right to abortion.
This law prohibits women from having an abortion as soon as the "heartbeat" of the fetus can be detected, ie around the sixth week of pregnancy. However, there are exceptions, especially in cases where the life of the mother is in danger.
Democrat Senator John Bel Edwards said in a statement "preparing to sign" this law adopted by "an overwhelming majority of elected" from both sides of the political spectrum.
Other US states such as Georgia, Ohio, Mississippi, Kentucky, Iowa or North Dakota have similar laws.
