Germany: Appeal to the people wearing kippah before a demonstration against Israel
The German government on Monday called for the population to wear the yarmulke in the face of renewed anti-Semitism and solidarity with the Jews for al-Quds Day Saturday, an annual event against Israeli control of Jerusalem.

He thus returned to controversial statements made over the weekend. He warned Jews to wear a kippah on the street in Germany because of the risk of aggression, which caused strong reactions in Israel and was worth Monday disavowal of the spokesman of the German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
"The State must ensure that the free exercise of religion by all is possible (...) and ensure that everyone can move safely with a kippah anywhere in our country", said Steffen Seibert at a press conference.
