Syria: Russian aircraft pound jihadist-controlled areas

Russian aircraft conducted about 20 raids against rebel and jihadist targets in the provinces of Hama, Idleb and Aleppo. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reports at least 10 civilian deaths and dozens of injuries.

The Russian planes have not left this Friday, the sky of the provinces of Hama, Idleb and Aleppo, in northern Syria. The fighter-bombers conducted about 20 raids, concentrating their strikes on Idleb, a region fully controlled by Hayaat Tahrir al-Cham, the former branch of al-Qaeda in Syria.

Military positions, but also residential areas have been targeted, resulting in deaths and injuries among combatants and civilians.

At the same time, Syrian army artillery fired dozens of shells and rockets into jihadist-controlled areas, including Hama and Idleb.....
