Resignation of World Bank President Jim Yong Kim

World Bank President Jim Yong Kim, who resigned Tuesday, will step down on Feb. 1, and current executive director Kristalina Georgieva will take over as interim director.

The term of Jim Yong Kim, 59, normally expired in 2022.

The resigning president announced that he would join a company and be responsible for infrastructure development in emerging countries.
