Niger : Nearly 300 Boko Haram fighters

Nearly 300 fighters of the jihadist group Boko Haram have been "neutralized" in Niger during land and air raids led by the army since last Friday, according to the government of Niamey.

In a statement issued Wednesday, the Nigerian Ministry of Defense said that the army had been conducting since December 28 a "sweeping operation along the Komadougou River and on the islands of Lake Chad (...) as part of fight against the terrorist group Boko Haram".
