Khashoggi Murder : five death sentences required at the opening of the trial

The Saudi General Attorney has demanded the death penalty for five of the 11 suspects accused of murdering journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the opening Thursday of their trial in a criminal court in Riyadh.

The 11 suspects appeared in the presence of their lawyers, according to a statement from the Attorney General issued by the official SPA agency.

Jamal Khashoggi, who worked with the Washington Post, was killed on October 2 by Saudi agents at the Kingdom's consulate in Istanbul.
