Frenchy – Survivor Story: The Most Honest Hip Hop You’ll Hear All Year

With a title like “Survivor Story” I knew Hip Hop artist Frenchy’s track was going to hit hard. Yet, I didn’t quite anticipate just how much candid honesty the Grime track would offer through the perfectly metered Rap bars.
The beats almost fall away as you hook into the narrative of the downtempo mix which will stay with you for long after it has faded out.
Survivor Story takes you on a lyrical journey through Frenchy’s experience with depression. From how it started, to the thoughts it left him with, to how he pulled himself through it. I will never be able to reiterate enough just how essential tracks like this which expose the human condition are. They prove that despite how alienating depression feels, we’re all in the struggle together.
