Heidi Osborne – A2Z: Empoweringly Sweet Melodic Hip Pop

Heidi Osborne’s latest single A2Z (Rise and Grind) is steeped in attitude, the kind of attitude you’ve come to expect from male Hip Hop artists, but Heidi proves that she can hold her own against her male counterparts. I have always found the male dominated Hip Hop scene pretty much isolating to female fans given that you’re pretty hard pressed to find a track which isn’t objectifying women. So for me, it was impossible not to fall in love with Heidi’s flavour which was simultaneously sweet as it was empowering. He beat to A2Z was kept low key and melodic, yet it still provided the perfect platform for Heidi to lay down her ingeniously penned lyricism. It’s packed with plenty of subtle hooks, lush synth and rhythmic melody.
