MANCHESTER UNITED have offered a contract to Joao Felix as negotiations with Benfica continue.

Felix enjoyed a stunning debut campaign in Portugal, scoring 20 times and providing 11 assists.

The 19-year-old is regarded as one of Europe’s hottest prospects following an impressive season.

Felix’s performances have attracted the attention of a number of clubs, including United and fierce rivals Manchester City.

And according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, United have made the first move.

He tweeted: “#ManchesterUnited are really interested in signing #JoaoFelix from #Benfica for €120M and they could pay the clause.

“Contacts ongoing. #RedDevils have offered to him a contract until 2024 (€6M plus bonus at year).”

The €120m (£105m) would smash the record £89m fee United splashed out on Paul Pogba three years ago.
