Personal Fact of Scott Brown
Scott Brown is a prominent American lawyer and politician and served as the US senator from Massachusetts. He defeated the Democratic candidate, Martha Coakley, in the 2010 special election to succeed U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy for the remainder of the term ending January 3, 2013. He came into limelight, through his straight-forward and open-minded ideology and principles. He credits his distinct individuality to his difficult childhood and determined dreams which helped him shape his career and ambition.
Despite being a talented and sharp student, he took up modeling during his college days to finance his study program and earn his degrees. Even though he was trained to serve as a defense counsel in the US army, he gradually took to politics and fought elections to enter US Senate as a Republican. He completed a full Senate term in 2012, but lost in re-elections in 2012 and 2014, thereby becoming the first man to lose two consecutive senate elections to women.
After retiring from politics, he took up private practice and work with FOX News channel. His conservative takes on abortion for rape victims, opposition against gay rights, implementation of death penalty for criminals, suggestion of tax cutting for creation of new jobs landed him in major controversies time and again.
