About Qtum
Qtum is an open sourced blockchain platform built on Bitcoin’s UTXO model, with sup- port for Ethereum Virtual Machine based smart contracts and secured by a proof of stake consensus model. QTUM has a Decentralized Governance Protocol through which major parameters of the blockchain can be modified to avoid the possibility of a hard fork. QTUM is working hard on its X86 virtual machine which will allow program- mers to write smart contract in programming languages such as C++, Rust, goLang etc. QTUM is also working on the enterprise version QTUMx, which is currently at prototyp- ing stage.
