Congressman denies sexual harassment settlements

DETROIT (AP)  Longtime Michigan Rep. John Conyers in the back hint to Tuesday denied settling a disease in 2015 from a girl who alleged she was in flames from his Washington staff because she rejected his sexual advances.

The website BuzzFeed News reported re Monday that the office of Conyers, 88, paid the girl greater than $27,000 to assent the revolution knocked out a confidentiality succession.

BuzzFeed in addition to published affidavits from former staff members who said they had witnessed Conyers moving female staffers inappropriately  rubbing their legs and backs  or requesting sexual favors. BuzzFeed said it expected the documents from right-wing campaigner Mike Cernovich, but independently stated their reality. Cernovich said he gave the documents to BuzzFeed News because Democrats would "attempt to discredit the description by attacking the messenger" if he published them himself.

Conyers is the top Democrat harshly speaking the House Judiciary Committee and the longest-serving current adherent of the House, having arrived in 1965.

The doling out has paid more than $17 million in taxpayer money on culmination of the last 20 years to resolve claims of sexual harassment, overtime pay disputes and supplementary workplace violations filed by employees of Congress. "The current process includes the signing of non-disclosure agreements by the parties operating," Pelosi said in a statement. "Congresswoman Jackie Speier has introduced legislation that will assign much-needed transparency upon these agreements and make add-on vital reforms. I strongly preserve her efforts."
