In "Unlimited", Art Basel's platform for large-scale projects (installations, monumental sculptures, etc.), gallerist Thaddaeus Ropac will present Robert Rauschenberg's monumental painting "Rollings (Salvage)" (1984), Jeffrey Deitch will showcase Urs Fischer's installation "Untitled (Bread House)" (2004-2006), and Richard Gray will present David Hockney's photographic drawing 'Pictures at an Exhibition' (2018/2021).
The 'Parcours' section returns to the fair, presenting 20 site-specific installations, under the motto "Can we find happiness together again?". Among the works included in this section are twelve large-scale performances and paintings by Claudia Comte, presented by the Gladstone Gallery and the König Galerie at the Stadtcasino in Basel; as well as works by Jason Dodge, Hamish Fulton, Bunny Rogers, Augustas Serapinas and Pedro Wirz.
In addition, the Basel edition will adopt a hybrid format for the first time. Art Basel Live, the digital initiative that debuted at Art Basel Hong Kong, will enable the works on view in Basel to reach the widest possible audience through a digital programme that includes online viewing rooms, virtual tours and social media broadcasts.
