Jeff Jarrett to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame

STAMFORD, Conn./NEW ORLEANS (Heartland Newsfeed) -- The "King of the Mountain" will be joining the immortals when Jeff Jarrett is inducted into the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2018 in New Orleans as part of WrestleMania 34 Week on Friday, April 6.

A report released Monday by NBC Sports broke the news that the third-generation wrestling superstar would be joining Bill Goldberg (Goldberg), Mark LoMonaco and Devon Hughes (Bubba Ray and Devon Dudley of The Dudley Boyz) and Lisa Mary Moretti (Ivory).

Jarrett held more than seventy titles in his storied wrestling career, including being a four-time World Championship Wrestling (WCW) World Heavyweight Champion, a three-time WCW U.S. Heavyweight Champion, a six-time World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now part of WWE) Intercontinental Champion and a six-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion (which traveled through several promotions).

Jarrett first got started in professional wrestling originally as a referee in an organization promoted by his father Jerry -- the Continental Wrestling Association (CWA) -- and would eventually win six different titles fourteen different times while part of CWA.

After many years in wrestling, both Jarretts would found NWA: Total Nonstop Action Wrestling in Nashville, Tenn., as part of the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) in 2002 before withdrawing in 2004 to become Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA Wrestling). It is now known as Impact Wrestling (aka TNA Impact Wrestling). Jarrett was inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame in 2015.

The induction ceremony will take place at New Orleans' Smoothie King Center.
