Masai Mara, Kenia. Am 18. August 2019 frühmorgens um kurz nach 6.00 Uhr entdeckten wir die große Löwengruppe. Drei Weibchen und ca. 8 Kinder – vielleicht 6 Wochen alt. Einige Zeit später sahen wir auch den Löwenmann. Dieser war der einzige inaktive aus der Löwenfamilie. Er döste am Rand eines Gebüschs und hatte überhaupt keine Lust sich um die Familie zu kümmern. Ca. eine halbe Stunde wurden die Jungen noch gesäugt. Als sie fertig waren fingen sie an zu toben. Und es kam so wie es kommen sollte. Irgendwann entdeckte die Rasselbande den buschigen Schwanz vom Löwenpapa. Sie spielten damit eine kurze Zeit, bevor der Papa Löwe hochfuhr und seinem Nachwuchs mit geblecktem Gebiss drohte. Was soviel heißen sollte „lasst mich in Ruhe, sonst gibt es was auf die Schnauze“. Dies gelang auch für vielleicht 5 Sekunden, dann wollten die Löwenbabys weiterhin mit dem Ende vom Schwanz welcher sehr buschig ist spielen. Der Nachwuchs war genau so hartnäckig den Papa zu ärgern, wie der Herr Löwe geduldig war und den Kleinen nur drohte. Diese Rangeleien gingen über eine halbe Stunde bevor sich Herr Löwe in ein nahe gelegenes Gebüsch verzog. Ich hatte viel Spaß diese lustige Szene mit meiner Kamera einzufangen. Bei meinen zahlreichen Reisen in die Masai Mara hatte ich so etwas noch nie fotografieren können. Masai Mara, Kenya. On 18. August 2019 early in the morning at shortly after 6.00 o'clock we discovered the big group of lions. Three females and about 8 children - maybe 6 weeks old. Some time later we also saw the lion man. He was the only inactive one of the lion family. He dozed at the edge of a bush and had no desire at all to take care of the family. Approx. half an hour the boys were still suckled. When they were finished they started to rage. And it came as it should. Sometime the cheeky lion cubs discovered the bushy tail of the lion dad. They played with it for a short time before Dad drove up the lion and threatened his offspring with licked teeth. What should mean so much "leave me alone, otherwise there will be something on the snout". This succeeded also for perhaps 5 seconds, then the lion babies wanted to play further with the end of the tail which is very bushy. The offspring was just as stubborn to annoy the dad as the gentleman lion was patient and only threatened the little ones. These quarrels went on for half an hour before Mr Leo moved to a nearby bush. I had a lot of fun capturing this funny scene with my camera. With my numerous journeys into the Masai Mara I had never been able to photograph such a thing.
