Japan became the new champion of the Women's Hockey Asia Cup 2022 after beating South Korea 2-0 in Muscat. Lee S. 12' and scored for Cheon 34'. Tanaka scored twice for the Japanese side in the 28' and 45' minute to have that edge over South Korea. These goals were closely followed by Mori in  the 37' minute and Nagai scored 46' and never gave South Korea an opportunity to even come close.

India Vs China Bronze Medal Match Women's Hockey Asia Cup 2022

The Indian women's hockey team may not have been able to retain their Asia Cup crown, but Savita Punia and her teammates brought home a bronze medal after defeating China 2-0 in the third-place play-off on Friday, January 29 in Oman.
India defeated China in a great performance at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat, thanks to goals from Sharmila Devi (13) and Gurjit Kaur (19). Gurjit, who was instrumental in India's semi-final appearance in the Tokyo Olympics, assisted on both goals as the Women in Blue put on a clinical display in Muscat.
After defeating lowly Malaysia 9-0 in their first match, India lost 0-2 to Asian Games winners Japan before smashing Singapore 9-1 to reach the semifinals. However, India's dreams were dashed in the semifinals as they were defeated 2-3 by Korea due to sloppy defending and bad penalty corner conversions.

For the first time in 47 years, the winners have gotten a prize money with the champion of the AFC Women's Asian Cup getting $1 million, while the runners-up and losing semi-finalists earning earn $500,000 and $150,000 respectively.
