Natasimha Balakrishna's high-octane action entertainer Akhanda directed by Boyapati Srinu captured the imagination of all. Ever since the project launch, the film generated immense interest as Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu earlier came with blockbusters like Simha and Legend.
The makers proceeded ahead with Akhanda release despite the controversial GO by the Andhra Pradesh government headed by AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy reducing the ticket rates in theatres and putting a cap on the number of shows. Despite all this and the mixed reviews from all quarters, the film turned out to be a super hit.
The film turned out to be the biggest grosser and became the first million-dollar film for Natasimha Balakrishna. Thus Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu completed a hattrick of hits. The film is still going great guns at the box office.

Story

Balakrishna played a powerful role and he is seen in dual roles as a farmer reformer Murali Krishna and as an Aghora Akhanda. Pragya Jaiswal played  the role of his love interest, collector Shravanya. Jagapathi Babu, Poorna, Srikanth played the roles of Aghora baba, principal secretary Padmavathi, Varadarajulu.
The story is set in the backdrop of Rayalaseema region, Anantapur district, and Murali Krishna (Balakrishna) makes enemies as he tries to reform villains fighting against environmental hazards. When he fights against illegal mining, he makes enemies with influential businessman Varadarajulu (Srikanth). This puts the entire family of Murali Krishna at risk and when they are on the verge of getting eliminated, Aghora Akhanda (Balakrishna) turns their savior. Where this leads to form the rest of Akhanda's story.
Balakrishna's powerful dialogues highlighting the glory of Hinduism, Thaman's thumping background music turned the film into a superhit.

The film is made with a budget of Rs.60-70crs

OTT Release Date

Akhanda got the OTT release date. The makers planned to film the premier on Disney +Hotstar OTT on January 12, 2022. However they changed the OTT streaming date to January 21,2022 as the film is going strong at the box office.
