Maslin Beach in Adelaide, South Australia, is home of the event formerly known as the Nude Olympics. Rather than let the International Olympic Committee sue the pants off them (no point, really) organisers changed the name to the Pilwarren Maslin Beach Nude Games. The designated “unclad” area is at the southern end of the beach, about 800m (2625 ft) walk along the sand from the main entrance. Once here it’s best to follow suit (or not) and wear a hat, smile and little else. The 1997 movie Maslin Beach — “a naked and hilarious search for the meaning of life” — distinguished itself by having no costumes and the action contained within real time.
Hosted by the local nudist community, the event attracts people from around Australia to compete in a range of novelty sports including three-legged and sack races, as well as water balloon throwing.

Participants can also enter competitions to claim the title of Ms Maslin Beach or Best Bum on Show in either the 18 to 39, or 40 plus categories.
Games organiser David Pillar said the event's popularity had remained steady over the past few years.
"It attracts people from all around ... there are lots of other people who aren't usually part of the nudist community that come down for the games, we've got people flying in from interstate," he said.

The games have a 30-year history at Maslin Beach, making it one of the longest running nude events in the nation.
"It's a really good fun day, it's a great place to catch up and meet new people," Mr Pillar said.
"People come down here for different reasons, the nudist community itself is small, everybody knows everybody and we like to catch up once a year.
"Some people just come down because they are curious to see what it's like to be at a nude event."

What in the name of!...
In 2015 doubt was cast on the future of the games when the Onkaparinga Council acted to introduce a range of permit conditions.
"They wanted every competitor to fill in an entry form and for us to keep a spectator record which is an invasion of privacy," Mr Pillar said.
But organisers said they reached a compromise with the council that allowed this year's event to go ahead.
The event, originally called the Maslin Beach Nude Olympics, also had to change its name twice.
In 2013, the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) told organisers they could not use the word Olympics in the title.
The event then took on the name Maslin Beach Nudo Lympics but the AOC was against that title as well.
"We weren't going to win that fight so we thought we would just change the name," Mr Pillar said.
So the event eventually became 'The Pilwarren Maslin Beach Nude Games'
Controversial? Of course!
As with any event of this type there are both negative and positive comments.
The official Pilwarren Maslin Beach Nude Games website has this to say...
"Many people make comments about the Maslin Beach Nude Games, 99% are positive. Maslin Beach Nude Games are meant to be a family friendly fun day at the beach for genuine nudists and people that have never experienced the nudist lifestyle wanting to try it for the first time.
"One comment was that the Ms Maslin Beach Competition is sexist, there needs to be a Mr Maslin Beach Contest & there should be a Female Best Bum Competition. There are a number of problems with this comment. It indicates the purpose of the individual events are taken way too seriously & putting political correctness on the events, therefore killing it by over analysing the purpose of the events. Just like a joke – if you over analyse it, then it is no longer funny...
..."The Maslin Beach Nude Games should be about fun nude games on the beach. Nudists generally accept others for the person they are, not their physical appearance, so having 10 events judging peoples physical appearance really goes against most nudist’s principles. So it has been decided to discontinue the Ms Maslin Beach Contest. There will be Best Bum Male contests, with 2 age groups for male & 2 age groups for female. Please consider these competitions as a bit fun & not serious competitions. If these competitions are taken too seriously then these events will not continue in the future. We are here to have fun, enjoy the events, enjoy the day, enjoy the company of other nudists and Maslin Beach – stop taking it so seriously & have fun!"

There will be a marque selling soft drinks, bottled water & sausage sizzle - all money goes back into the cost of running the games, so please support the event & buy some drinks.
We will have stubby holders & draw string bags for sale as well to raise funds for the Games.
No pockets for drinks money, car keys, mobile phone you might think
No problem, we will be selling small money pouches to put your drinks money, keys etc in $5 each
If we were meant to be nude we would have been born that way!
