MEET CASSIUS CROC
Cassius, an Australian saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus), is the largest crocodile in captivity at 5.48 m (17 ft 11.75 in).
Cassius is a male saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) recognized by the Guinness World Records as the world's largest crocodile in captivity in 2011. The animal measures 5.48 m (18 ft 0 in) in length, weighs approximately 2,200 lb (998 kg) and is estimated to be more than 110 years old. Kept at the Marineland Melanesia, a zoo on Green Island, Queensland, Australia, Cassius was officially recognized by Guinness in 2011, but lost the title in 2012 to Lolong, a 6.17 m (20 ft 3 in) saltwater crocodile caught in the southern Philippines. Cassius again holds the record since Lolong's death in 2013.

Australian wildlife zoo Marineland Melanesia, on Green Island, currently has more than 50 crocodiles, from young creatures to more mature specimens such as Cassius. Cassius is aged about 100, is the largest crocodile that has ever been caught alive in Australia, and is thought to be a man-eater. He was brought about 3,200 km (1.988 miles) from Australia’s Northern Territory to Green Island in 1987, by truck.
