Works from the David Ross Collection to be auctioned
From September 7th to 15th, 2021, Sotheby's London will auction more than sixty British Pop Art and Contemporary Art works, property of the collector David Ross.

The auction's title, "This is Tomorrow", is a reference to the important exhibition of British art organised in 1956 at the Whitechapel Art Gallery. The works in the auction have been acquired by David Ross over the past 20 years, and are now being auctioned for the benefit of the David Ross Foundation.
The auction includes Gilbert & George's "Head over Heels" (1973) and Sir Peter Blake's "Shrine to Marilyn Monroe, in a Texas diner" (1989-90). "Pop Shop Quad IV (Littmann p.142)" (1989), a work by Keith Haring, shows the artist's characteristic style. More recent works range from the abstraction of Sean Scully's "12.12.12" (2012) to the figuration of "Drawing 16", a drawing by Glenn Brown inspired by Van Dyck's portraits.
According to Sotheby's, the collection is an opportunity for aspiring collectors looking for works at an affordable price, handpicked by one of the most respected figures in the British art scene.
