The festival is located in the very center of Katowice, the capitol city of the Upper Silesia Region of Poland. The area formerly used for industrial reasons has now been successfully transformed into a real mecca for all contemporary music lovers.
Tauron Nowa Muzyka 2016 Festival ground lies in between two beautifully preserved mine shafts Bartosz and Warszawa. Each year the festival's stages appear to host the biggest names of modern musical avant-garde in a closed coal mine surrounding.
KWK Katowice, which operated between 1823 and 1999, is one of the best examples of the industrial relics in the entire Upper Silesia Region has now been given a second life as a music festival location attracting a huge audience.
This year, remembering the big popularity of the guided tours around the coal mine post industrial locations, organized during the festival, the organizers are preparing new and even bigger treats.
Apart from that you shall find all the essential features of any professional festival camp including the VIP Area, Main Stage and other, smaller stages, Food Corner, Drinking Tents, Toilets and Fresh Water Areas, First Aid Points, Merchandise and Kids Area!
The old production halls, warehouses, carpentries and the amazing pressure tower proved to be the dream location for showcasing anything from instrumental nu-jazz sound to dark sounds of minimal techno.
