Most voters don't believe political polls, although Democrats express more confidence in them than others do. 57% of U.S. Voters do not trust political polls.

Voters have even less faith in polls than they do in current news reporting on politics. Only

38% of voters believe that when they poll on President Trump, most pollsters are trying to block him from passing his agenda.

In late August of 2016, 17% of Republicans and 10% of Democrats said they were less likely that year to let others know how they intended to vote for president compared to other election years. That may be a key reason why most polling organizations missed Trump's victory by a mile.
