Beto O’Rourke: I’d Vote to Impeach Trump
Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas), who is running for Sen. Ted Cruz's (R-Texas) seat in November, said Monday he’s seen enough evidence that he would vote to impeach President Trump.
Maybe Beto could get Liberal Loony Toon Maxine Waters to come on down to Texas to stump for him... They'll love her since she and Beto are running on similar issues.
O’Rourke said on KFYO radio in Lubbock when asked if he thought there was enough evidence to call for the impeachment of the president.
“I’ve seen an attempt, no matter how ham-handed, to collude with a foreign government in our national election. I’ve seen an effort to obstruct justice in the investigation of what happened in the 2016 election.”
Beto also brought back that old gem that the Democrats, and his pal Maxine Waters tried to use a few months back. Using CNN as their soapbox they called into question President Trump's 'fitness, competence, and judgment' to serve as president.
Beto said, however, that an impeachment vote should wait until special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election fully plays out.. Ya think?
“We are not there yet. So I’m going to stay focused on the issues that we can make a difference on right now,” O’Rourke said.
If Beto is waiting till Mueller finds dirt on Trump he may have to wait a long time.
Witch Hunt
After spending millions of dollars in taxpayer money, Mueller big get was when he announced charges against 13 Russian Twitter Trolls for allegedly attempting to influence the 2016 election. Of course, these 13 people are safely in Russia so they will never see the inside of an American courtroom. Which basically means Mueller could have fabricated any evidence since it'll never be challenged.
Trump has repeatedly railed against the probe as a “witch hunt,” and has denied there was any collusion between his campaign and Russia. After a year and a half, there has been not one shred of evidence that shows any Trump / Russia collusion. In fact, the only real collusion with Russia has been with Hillary Clinton and the Democrats.
Mueller reportedly told Trump's lawyers last month that he does not consider the president to be a criminal target at this point in his investigation, but he still considers Trump to be a subject of his probe.
Democrats have previously forced a vote in the House to launch impeachment proceedings, with nearly 60 representatives voting in favor of the motion.
Beto is betting on a long shot if he is to win Ted Cruz's seat. Cruz won his Senate bid in 2012 by 16 points and President Trump won the state by 9 points in 2016.
