Windsor Express Off to a Slow Start in 2018-19 Season
The Windsor Express have had a tough start to the 2018/2019 National Basketball League of Canada season, losing their first two games.

Last night (Wed., Nov. 21), the Express fell to St. John’s Edge 113 to 86 and in the home opener on Saturday (Nov. 17), the team lost to the expansion Sudbury Five by a score of 126 to 123.

519 Magazine sent photographer Maureen Stewart to the home opener to catch some of the action and entertainment.

Despite leading Sudbury by more than 30 at one point in the Express’ home opener Saturday night, Windsor lost the lead and fell 126-123 to the expansion Sudbury Five. In the loss, Ryan Anderson led all Expressmen with 30 points on 11-for-22 shooting, including 8-for-16 from three-point range. Juan Pattillo had a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds in the loss.

Despite the loss, fans enjoyed a killer halftime show from Windsor rockers Autumn Kings and a pretty nifty dance routine from TC’z Dance Studio team, which cause a little stir when it was cut short so the game could resume. Express owner Dartis Willis issued a statement this week apologizing for the event.
