What's On TV? - Monday (9/23/19) - It's Premiere Night...From 'Bluff City Law' to 'The Voice'

Tonight's lineup is chocked full of series and season premieres, crime and legal dramas, comedies, romance and lots of familiar faces...and a healthy dose of Michael Sheen. Whether you're ready for something new ("Prodigal Son," "All Rise," "Bob (Hearts) Abishola" or "Bluff City Law") or glad to have a favorite back ("9-1-1," "The Voice" or "The Good Doctor"), Monday's got you covered.

Pick of the Day:
"Prodigal Son" on FOX at 9:01 p.m. ET

Fresh off his stint on "The Walking Dead," Tom Payne stars as "Malcolm Bright," a criminal psychologist who uses his "special" insights to help the NYPD solve crimes. Also starring Michael Sheen, Bellamy Young and Lou Diamond Phillips, "Prodigal Son" has a dark comedic undertone that leaves viewers questioning whether Malcolm just might be a psychopath like the ones he's trying to catch. This crime drama is a Greg Berlanti production so its sure to be a hit with the viewers.

"Me Before You" (CMT) 8:00 PM ET

A cute little feel-good movie with a side of teary-eyed drama. Emilia Clarke is at her most adorable as a small town girl who falls for a rich, worldly young man she just became a caregiver for. A beautiful, bittersweet love story filled with laughs and tears, "Me Before You" really makes you think about "living" life and doing it on your own terms. Also starring Sam Claflin, Janet McTeer, Charles Dance, Matthew Lewis, Vanessa Kirby and Stephen Peacocke who all give great performances. A delightful movie to watch tonight. Just make sure you have the tissues ready.

"Underworld" (SYFY) 9:00 PM ET

A much more adult version of the "Twilight" series, 2003's "Underworld" is the first film in this vampire/werewolf, action horror franchise. Kate Beckinsale and her PVC catsuit star as badass Selene, a vampire warrior whose sole mission in life is to kill the lycans who allegedly killed her family. Things get a little tricky and complicated when she falls for Michael, a human sought by the werewolves. "Underworld" also stars Scott Speedman, Michael Sheen and Bill Nighy and a few other familiar faces. Jam packed with action, violence and gore and a mix of "The Matrix" and "Blade," "Underworld" is not your average vampire love story, but definitely a thrilling ride.
