John Carpenter's "Halloween" is a seminal slasher that inspired so many movies of the same ilk. Unfortunately, it also inspired several lackluster sequels. Even so, the 1978 film is thrilling to watch every time because watching Michael Meyers saunter through a neighborhood on Halloween night will never not be terrifying. It's a perfect night to stay in and re-watch a great horror film.

"Goosebumps" was a surprisingly enjoyable family creature-feature, based on the famous series by R.L. Stine. It's a family friendly romp, which airs back-to-back tonight, so the whole family has a chance to sit down for thrills and laughs after trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. The entire cast, including Jack Black as Stine, is having a blast and it translate to a fun watch.
