10 Films and Franchises That You Could Gender Swap

Can you imagine if Indiana Jones had a ponytail to go with his whip? Or hey, what if Iron Man was Iron Maiden? The truth is, it wouldn't be the same, but in some cases, these famous characters might be even more interesting. Here are ten films that would fascinate us if they were gender-swapped.
"The Avengers"
There's already plenty of gender-swapping in the MCU fandom, and Tony Stark has been shown as Natasha Stark in at least one comic strip, and it's trickled down to the fans. Can you imagine Lena Headey in the red and gold suit? I can. And what if the rest of the team got the gender-swap treatment too? Charlize Theron could easily bring her "Atomic Blonde" moves to Captain America, Tatiana Maslany already had plenty of practice playing a genius scientist in "Orphan Black" and could definitely take on Bruce Banner's role. Thor, on the other hand, could be handled by Margot Robbie, who's also tall, blonde, and ethereal. Though Jennifer Lawrence can handle a bow and arrow, I'd love to see Gugu Mbatha-Raw have a shot at the superhero big leagues, and can definitely see her as Hawkeye. Black Widow, on the other hand, could be played by Taron Eagerton—we already know he can move from "The Kingsman."
Indiana Jones
A female professor and kickass explorer who was at the helm of four (but only three good) films? Sign me up. Pretty sure Jennifer Lawrence would be willing to trade in her bow for a whip, right?
"The Matrix"
I personally would've loved to see a woman leading the sci-fi classic. Felicity Jones kicked some serious intergalactic ass in "Rogue One," and could definitely conquer The Matrix as well, especially against Anya Taylor-Joy playing the Hugo Weaving villain.
"Blade Runner"/"Blade Runner 2049"
Without striving to replace Harrison Ford in every one of his classic roles...it would be great to see Sigourney Weaver as the female Deckard, whereas Nathalie Emmanuel could really pull off Ryan Gosling's role of an android questioning their humanity.
James Bond
To say a Jane Bond is overdue is being generous. And no matter how many female Bond-like films we get, it will never be the same as a true blue Bond film, complete with M, London, and the John Barry theme music. The only question is, who should play the highly coveted 007? Emilia Clarke could easily fit the bill—British, sultry, and capable of bringing an entire kingdom to their knees.
Harry Potter
It's hard to imagine the fate of the Wizarding World in the hands of anyone but Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint. But hey, maybe two girls and a boy would've been able to defeat You-Know-Who a bit faster, especially if those two girls were Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner, respectively, with Hermione's role being portrayed by Tom Holland.
"Taxi Driver"
There aren't many women who play crazy, but if anyone could take Robert De Niro's role and make it fit for a lady, it's Helena Bonham Carter.
"A Clockwork Orange"
It's interesting to think about how differently "Clockwork" might have gone if the droogs were a clan of women. If anything, it might have seemed more brutal. Gemma Arterton could pull off those eyelashes and the swagger.
"Thelma and Louise"
While there are plenty of "bro buddy" films out there—just look at "The Hangover" and "Pineapple Express"—it'd be interesting to see two men running for their lives. Save for films like "Hell or High Water," it's not something you see very often without the drug-induced mayhem, and I think it'd be great to see two big buff guys like Chris Evans and John Boyega taking that on. The age difference, like Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis had, doesn't hurt either.
"Annie Hall"
Given that men are so much more frequently played as being incredibly neurotic than women, it'd be a real twist to see a female take on the classic Woody Allen persona. Amy Schumer would be perfect to play the self-degrading, morbidly obsessed Alvy, with Bradley Cooper as the more level-headed male Annie.
